Dating and Verification
The absence of a maker’s mark complicates the process of dating and authenticating this padlock. Its design closely resembles that of Hobbs & Co London Lever 4 RPH and Hobbs & Co London SPH 18 padlocks. Additionally, the key’s design is consistent with another padlock bearing PATENT 145211, which dates to 1920. Based on these comparisons, it can be concluded that this padlock was manufactured between 1920 and 1930.
