Discover mining history with this Vintage Miners Lamp from Ferndale Coal & Mining Co. Made of solid brass, it's in very good used condition.

The miner's lamp features a stamped plate with the name of the Ferndale Colliery and a security instruction stamp, confirming its authenticity. The Ferndale Colliery operated from 1857 to 1959, establishing the latest possible date of manufacture as 1957.
This particular model does not appear in the 1885 catalog of the producer E. Thomas and Williams Limited, suggesting an earliest production date of 1886. The lamp's modern design elements, including a screw base and a security hole at the base, indicate technological advancements typical of the mid-20th century. Thus, it is likely dated around 1950.
